Thanks, MoSop. Your comments are always uplifting and encouraging (so is your blog). I really appreciate them.

An interesting thing about that hymn is I heard it first in Korean. We don't sing it much here, but for some reason, Koreans sing it all the time. I don't know why we don't sing it more. The message is very appropriate to Latter-Day Saints, and one we would do well to remember when we are tempted to judge another.

Another wonderful post. Your last paragraph includes a real power quote!

"I think He is more pleased with the man who would worship Him in a dress and heels than the man who would view pornography or commit adultery in a shirt and tie."

Wow. That is truly profound! And I agree. Your post has brought to mind one of the lesser sung humns that I really enjoy. The text was written in 1805 by an unknown author, and published in a non-lds interfaith hymnal. When Emma Smith was called to compile an LDS collection, it was the first hymn she chose: "Know This That Every Soul is Free"

vs.1 "Know this that every soul is free to choose his life and what he'll be. For this eternal truth is given, God will force no man to heaven"

vs. 2 "He'll call, persuade, direct aright, and bless with wisdom, love, and light, in nameless ways be good and kind, but never force the human mind"

vs. 3 "Freedom and reason make us men. Take these away, what are we then? Mere animals and just as well - The beasts may think of heaven or hell."

vs. 4 "May we no more our powers abuse, but ways of truth and goodness choose. Our God is pleased when we improve His grace and seek His perfect love."

God is truly is Love, may we ever seek Him
